A new coffee kiosk is under construction on Discovery Island at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

The new kiosk, which will presumably be a Joffrey's location, is being built just to the side of the Flametree BBQ restaurant near the DinoLand U.S.A. bridge. Construction walls are now up in the area.

Disney has most recently installed Joffrey's kiosks at Disney's Hollywood Studios on the Streets of America.

Is there a time frame for this to open?

The downfall for the Joffrey's carts is they do not accept the Disney dining as a snack. We were there the second week of June- Starbucks Venti = one snack...Joffrey cash. The line for Starbucks at MK and Epcot were out the door every morning. The only reason I found this out was when we were at Hollywood Studios and needed our morning Coffee fix, Joffrey's said no to the snack plan so we went to Starring Rolls to use the snack plan. We watched in other parks and noticed that Joffrey's didn't have the DDP symbol either. Starbucks at Downtown Disney does not accept the snack plan :(, just inside the Parks

Joffrey's seemed good when I had it last summer at the Contemporary Resort. I do miss the Hills Bros. coffee that they used to serve property-wide in WDW restaurants before they switched to Nescafé. It was a nice "regular" brewed coffee. And at the time ('90s), they were touting how Disney's relationship to Hills Bros. had gone all the way back to the earliest days at Disneyland. I think for a time Hills Bros. was owned by Nestlé, which may have had to do with the transition; but still Hills Bros. brewed coffee was good.

Thank you! Sorry, haven't been to DAK in a few months. This would make more sense then, as I suppose there may be a contract somewhere that says Joffrey's gets a kiosk inside the park. So, if the one by the former Tip Board is closed, that would make sense that they are building a new one by BBQ.

At least they have also made an effort to bring in better coffee (Joffreys and Starbucks). That's been a huge step up from that Nescafe "coffee" they tried to shove.

Happy people, in this sense = more awake, alert, less tired. (jazzed on Java juice).... and more time spent in said parks = more time to BUY!! = happy TDO = happy WDC shareholders. All because of a little roasted bean...

I'd rather have a Banyan Barbecue!

I'll take iced please. :geek:

That cart closed this week. So did the tip board. Disney Outfitters is expanding into that space to make up for the loss of Beastly Bazaar which became a meet and greet and the loss of Creature Comforts which will be converted to a Starbucks in the near future.

Isn't the existing "tea cart" stand technically already in Asia? If I remember correctly it still serves a full coffee lineup as well.

Why not a Starbucks?!:(

eblaz37Jun 18, 2014

Isn't there a Joffreys stand just to the right of where the Tip Board is? right at the end of the bridge into Discovery Island? Or is that closed now? Only because, this would seem redundant to have one just at BBQ plus the pre-existing Tip Board location...?

might not be a good idea. You could end with a park full of drunken people a la Epcot during some of the wine festivals.
