Disney has announced pricing and event dates and pricing for the 2024 Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party season at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.

In its earliest-ever start date, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will take place over 38 nights from August 9 through October 31, 2024. It started on August 11 in 2023, August 12 in 2022, August 17 in 2018, and August 25 in 2017.

What's New for 2024

Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will greet guests during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in their brand-new neon spiderweb attire.
More Villains sightings
DescenDANCE Party, taking place at Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland inspired by the upcoming Disney Original Movie “Descendants: The Rise of Red,” premiering on Disney+ on July 12.
For the first time during the party, you can meet the clairvoyant character Bruno from “Encanto” alongside Mirabel at their Casita in Fairytale Garden.
Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade will take place at an earlier time of 8:15 pm – perfect for those guests attending with little ones who want to enjoy the spooky fun before it’s bedtime.

As always, the party begins at 7 pm and ends at midnight, with park entry for ticket holders starting at 4 pm. The usual line-up of entertainment returns for 2024, including Mickey's Boo To You Halloween Parade, Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, and Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks.

Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular

Guests of select Walt Disney World Resort hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, and Shades of Green can purchase tickets starting May 8, and tickets will be available to all guests starting May 15. Ticket prices will range from $119 - $199, up from 2023's $109 – $199.

The 2024 Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party event dates are:

August - 9, 13, 16, 20, 23, 27 and 30
September - 2, 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 26, 27 and 29
October - 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, 17, 18, 20, 21, 24, 25, 27, 29 and 31

Walt Disney World Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members may purchase specially priced tickets for a $10 discount on select dates.

So much for the much vaunted "shift" in the reservations for the dessert parties during MNSSHP. Didnt go live until after 8 this morning and then only for dates up until the end of August.

A minor procedural question: Do you have to have tickets already purchased to the party in order to be able to book a dining reservation during the party? Or are those completely separate things?

Update - Disney has shifted the Resort Guest booking date for both the dessert parties and table service restaurants from June 6 to June 7: Starting June 7, 2024, Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel can book their reservation to enjoy a deviously delightful dessert party during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party—offered on select nights August 9 to October 31, 2024. All other Guests will be able to book reservations starting June 10, 2024. Starting June 7, 2024, Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel can book their reservation to dine at this restaurant during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party—offered on select nights August 9 to October 31, 2024. It's still listed on the Mickey's-Not-So-Scary Halloween Party website, but the link about Table Service restaurants is broken and there's currently nothing listed on Cinderella's Royal Table web page about the party. 🤷‍♂️

It's worse than that... with no discount for party day tickets, reduced ride availability during the party, and the party ticket price easily equivalent to or higher than a normal single-day ticket, they're practically doubling admission income with essentially no increase in labor expenses. Conceded: a few more hours of electricity and water, but they don't take the park off the grid overnight anyway.

We got in at $69/person for the after-fireworks dessert party in 2019, just days before they hiked the price to $84/person. That was steep enough then, and like I said, we couldn't eat enough to justify the cost. Of course, I remember buying Mickey Ice Cream Bars for my wife and I plus 2 of our 3 kids (at the time) for about $12, back in I want to say 2007 (and we did it a year or two earlier as well), and watching Wishes! from the Tomorrowland Terrace seating area facing the castle for free. Which is why I have no problem pointing out to people that Disney is, in fact, charging for things that used to be free.

I remember when my kids were 2, they were free and the party was $30 (!) Hard to believe it was that cheap 9 years ago. It was worth $60 to us. I could never imagine spending $500. Different strokes, I guess.

Dessert parties aren't worth the money when it's a regular park day - You are paying upwards of $100/person for average (at best) desserts you can't possibly eat enough of to justify the cost (The 6 of us tried, in the before-times, at a lower price point, still couldn't do it). During a party? I won't say it's dumb to do them, but... you have far more money than brains if you do.

According to the Walt Disney World website, reservations open June 6, 2024 for Resort Guests for Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Parties and Table Service dining during the Halloween Party at The Plaza Restaurant and Be Our Guest Restaurant. Disney notes all other Guests will be able to book reservations starting June 10, 2024. That's what I thought. I'm not terribly upset about missing out. I'm looking at going on Sunday 10/27 as I have the Pixie Dust pass and can't be in MK during regular admission that day.
