Fountain of Nations, Character Spot, Starbucks closures
Posted: Monday September 9, 2019 9:50am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

The first round of closures are now in effect at Epcot, the first phase that will see a complete redevelopment of Future World.

Fountain of Nations is now drained and behind construction walls.

It isn't clear yet if the fountain will remain, although the new area will feature plenty of water features.

Club Cool is now closed behind the walls, but will ultimately be relocated on the other side in what is currently Innoventions East.

Character Spot is closed, with a new location setup in another part of Innoventions West.

Inside the new Character Spot, guests can continue to meet Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Mickey Mouse in-front of Epcot themed backgrounds.

Well they did it and look stupid…cause that’s awesome, right?

It’s less of a complete park today than it was in 1998… Our standards need re-evaluated.

nah its still a great theme park, but with more food options...thats not a bad thing imo. Epcot always felt like the adult park where they focused on eating drinking and ambience more than rides and thrills. But they added a few great rides over the last years so its gotten a bit better in that regard as well

The continuing evolution of Epcot from a theme park to the world’s largest food court.

One would assume it’s a mishmash of things that sell really well (ie highest prices/margins) from the 345 days a year of festivals I’m not in love with it…but it’s also not the worst idea ever If they’re smart…big If…they rotate it seasonally to not cross with the festival booths…it’s a good idea. If it’s set stuff and they just push volume…not so much.

I’m hoping that they have the empanada that the Encanto booth has during Festival of the Arts. That is one of my favorite festival foods!

Define festival favorites. Thanks.

I hope none of the VPs have heard of this thus far!!

Can't wait until all the VPs come strolling through and realize what a stupid idea it was to knock down West Communicore and the fountain in the first place.

I think it'll do well. With the sitting areas, some shade and chargers, people will probably want to grab a bite and a drink while there.

Idea A+... Execution of the space... hmmm.... I do think this would be an amazing use for Odyssey.
